DNB Real Estate Investment Management (DNB REIM) is a leading property operator that covers the entire value chain within the segments: offices, shopping malls and hotels. We’re managers with good results and a strong financial position.

The portfolios are owned by DNB Livsforsikring ASA and DNB Scandinavian Property Fund.

DNB Real Estate Investment Management (DNB REIM) has a licence for the management of alternative investment funds (AIF) and manages DNB Scandinavian Property Fund and DNB Eiendomsfond Core Plus.

Our focus areas

Tenant involvement

DNB REIM involves tenants in its environmental initiatives. We keep them informed of environmental measures and provide input and advice to help find beneficial solutions. In some cases we join up with tenants to invest in good environmental initiatives. We buy renewable energy for our tenants.

ISO certified

In 2015, DNB REIM became certified for ISO 14001, which is an environmental management system. We take our environmental responsibility seriously and are continually working on improving, especially on environmental aspects such as energy, waste and pollution.

Energy labelling of buildings

We energy label our buildings and every year we assess which buildings we should upgrade the energy rating for. All our buildings report waste fractions, recycling rate and volume.

Our environmental policy
  • We will follow statutory regulatory requirements related to the external environment.
  • We will contribute to reducing the impact on the environment and climate by continually promoting new behavioural patterns and technical solutions which reduce CO2 emissions.
  • We will integrate environment and climate into our daily operations.
  • We will develop sustainable commercial properties for the future.
  • We will provide our tenants with added value through better profitability and a reduced environmental impact while contributing to our tenants and partners reducing their environmental and climate impact.
BREEAM In Use

We use BREEAM In Use as a tool to assess and map how sustainable our properties are, and to get an overview of which areas can be improved in order to ensure that the property is increasingly more sustainable.

Reducing electricity use in the real estate portfolio

Through our environmental initiatives, we’ve managed to reduce electricity use in the managed real estate portfolio by 38 GWh over a 10-year period. This reduction equates to over NOK 30 million per year. So for the entire period, this amounts to several hundred million kroner in savings for our customers.

GRESB DNB - Annual benchmark

Scandinavian Property Funds property portfolio is managed by DNB Commercial property. An annual benchmark is established to chart the mutual fund portfolio’s environmental status, the managers’ ability to organise the environmental initiatives and report objectives and results.
