Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice)

Why am I suddenly getting a Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice) from a company?

At some point, you have been shown the terms and conditions in Vipps, which explain that all invoices that can be digitalised will come as a digital invoice, through Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice).

You can read about this in Vipp’s terms and conditions under items 5.7.1. and 5.7.2 at Vipps.no.

Can I stop receiving Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice)?

If you do not want to receive eInvoices in Vipps, turn this off in the Vipps app, using menu option “Receive bills in Vipps”. You will continue to receive eInvoices in DNB online bank.

Note that the “on/off” button in “Receive bills in Vipps” remains independent of the “on/off” button in the “Always Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice)” under “eFaktura (eInvoice) in online bank and apps”. This means that if you turn off the first button, you will only stop receiving a bill notification in the Vipps app, but you will still be on “Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice)” or “Always eFaktura (eInvoice)”. To switch off the latter, you need to switch off “Always Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice)” by itself.

You will then not receive eFaktura (eInvoice) requests in DNB the online/mobile banks either, or in any other banks, unless you have entered into a specific agreement on eFaktura (eInvoice) with a provider/company.

Prices, and terms and conditions

There is no cost for transfer money to friends [with Vipps] as long as the amount is NOK 5000 or less to the same person within 24 hours.

To transfer NOK 5001 or more to the same person in a 24-hour period, a charge is made of 1% of the amount. The fee is added to the transaction that takes you over NOK 5000.

Transferring money to teams, associations and companies [with Vipps] is free of charge regardless of the amount.

I’m still getting a paper invoice. I thought this would come as eFaktura (eInvoice)?

By activating Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice), you don’t need to sign agreements with every business you receive bills from, but this is conditional on the companies offering “Always eFaktura (eInvoice)”. You will receive the eFaktura (eInvoice) automatically and do not need to submit the agreement with the company. Currently, not all companies offer “Always eFaktura (eInvoice)”, so some bills/invoices will still be issued on paper.

If the paper invoice is paid in the online bank, an agreement will be registered automatically so the next invoice from the same issuer will come automatically.

Do I have to “accept all” to use Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice)?

In practice, “accept all” and using Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice) is the same. This feature can be activated either in the online bank or in the Vipps app.

“Accept all” is the same as activating “Always eFaktura (eInvoice)” in the online bank, or “Vipps eFaktura (eInvoice)” in Vipps. In practice, these are different terms for exactly the same function. You can activate and deactivate this feature either in DNB’s online bank, other online banks or in Vipps.

If you disable the feature in one platform, you will be able to enter into agreements with specific eFaktura (eInvoice) providers as before.
