For companies outside Norway, it is not necessary to be based at Startuplab, but the team will be expected to travel to Oslo/Bergen 2-4 times over the programme period.

• Startuplab invests NOK 1-3 million against an ownership of around 10%. Startuplab is open to discussing different investment amounts and ownership percentages in each individual case.
• The investment is made through a SLIP (Startups Lead Investment Paper). For all practical purposes, this works as a convertible loan, which means that your business maintains the ability to incentivise employees with shares as well as paying salaries in the short term.
• With the investment, the business can apply for all early-stage financing that requires matching capital. This means that most entrepreneurs can get an additional NOK 1.5 million in non-dilutive funding.
• After conversion, Startuplab makes no additional investments in the business. In other words, the incentives then remain the same, since Startuplab is diluted on an equal footing with the entrepreneurs.
