What are credit cards

A credit card is a payment card where you borrow money from the bank instead of paying with your own money. The postponement is given as a loan, also called credit, and is up to 45 days interest free. Your credit card also gives you a fee-free purchase of goods, and a number of benefits such as travel insurance and discounts.

Did you know that for both fraud and whether you want to complaining about a purchase, do you have more rights and a simpler way to a solution if you paid by credit card?

When you use a credit card, you’ll be able to postpone the payment and you can check that the invoice matches the item that has been delivered, for example, online shopping. Your credit card is not linked to your use account, and it is therefore not your money that is at risk when using your card.

Insurance with credit cards

If you pay more than half of the transport costs for travel by credit card, you can get one-way travel insurance included. You can also buy payment insurance which covers the expenses on your credit card.

Postpone payment by credit card

When you receive an invoice for the credit card, you can choose to pay all or only parts of the amount. Credit cards give you the opportunity to postpone payment, which can be useful if an unexpectedly large cost arises.

Best use of credit cards

In many cases, credit card payments can pay for themselves. Remember that you get the best out of the benefits and discounts with a credit card when you repay the whole bill by the due date.

What is 45 days interest-free payment deferral?

If you have chosen a due date of the 15th, you will receive a bill for everything you have spent on the card in the preceding month. The bill is produced around 15 days before it is due. If you use the card the day after the bill date, you will have 45 interest-free days, or “interest-free credit”. If you use the card the day before, you’ll get 15 days’ interest-free credit.

How does a credit card work?

In many ways, a credit card works in the same way as a normal debit card. The difference is that instead of having a bank account with your money connected to the card, you have a certain amount – a “credit limit” – which the bank has given you. You can spend freely within this amount, but remember that the money is a loan from the bank. You therefore get a bill for this amount you’ve spent, which must be paid. You can choose to pay only parts of the amount you owe on the bill – a so-called “partial payment” – or you can pay off the full amount you have used. If you pay off the full amount, you will not have to pay interest rates on the money you owe.

Why do you run a credit check on me?
