Serious illness can drastically alter your life, and financial worries add to the burden. Insurance will not make you well, but it will help you get through a difficult situation. During a difficult time, you can get financial security and freedom of action.

Use the disbursement as you wish

You can spend an insurance disbursement however you want. Many people choose to work fewer hours, receive additional treatment at a private clinic, or make time for proper recovery and health-promoting activities.

How insurance works in case of critical illness

  • You can purchase the insurance when you are between the ages of 18 and 60, and it lasts until you are 67.
  • When you order the insurance, you will be told to fill in a statutory health form.
  • There is no tax on insurance disbursements.
  • The compensation will be paid out no earlier than 24 hours after the final diagnosis has been made, the injury has occurred, the surgery has been performed, or you have been placed on a transplant waiting list in the Nordic countries. Provided that you are alive.
  • If the illness/disorder manifests symptoms before 3 months after the agreement is approved, the insurance will not pay out. This is called a grace period or symptom clause.
  • Even if you recover completely from your illness, the money is paid out.

Life after cancer

Living life after cancer is a service developed in collaboration with Kreftkompasset. It is designed for you, who have received a payout following a cancer diagnosis through critical illness insurance or from an individual disability pension.

During treatment, many feel well supported, but the road back to everyday life can be challenging. Here, you’ll find guidance and support to help you regain your energy, activity, and work.

After completing the course, you will get two sessions with an experienced oncology nurse. These conversations give you the opportunity to talk about what matters most to you and receive guidance on returning to work or other activities.

3. Digital Network

You will get access to a safe, digital community with others who have been through cancer treatment — a place to share experiences, find support, and build connections.
