Text message services and notifications

Text message services and notifications let you easily check your balance, transfer money and approve an eFaktura (eInvoice). For example, you can be notified when your salary arrive in your account or when your loan payment is debited.

Overview of services

You can perform many banking services using your mobile phone, whether you are in Norway or abroad. Send a text message to 04800, without any prefix, even if you are abroad.

Below is an overview of all the text message services and notifications you can use.

*Assumes that you create the names of your accounts in the online bank under Settings - Text message services - Settings. Check the account and enter the desired name. For example, Current account = Current, and Savings account = Save.

Text message Notifications

Balance over/below chosen limit

Get a text message when the available balance on the account has passed a chosen limit.

Salary, social security and pension into account

Get a text message when your salary, social security payment or pension goes into your account.

Use of Mastercard

Get a text message when your Mastercard is used in Norway and/or abroad.

Digipost and eFaktura (eInvoice).

Get a text message or email when an unprocessed eFaktura (eInvoice) is received in the online bank, or get a text message when an unprocessed Digipost invoice is received.

Notification by text or email

In some cases, you can choose whether to receive the notification by text message or email. You can choose to activate the online bank notification.

Insufficient funds in account

Receive a text message when there are insufficient funds in the selected account.

Money out of account

Get a text message when a loan payment is deducted from your account.

Get a text message when an international payment is charged to your account.

Use of debit card

Get a text message when your Visa/BankAxept is used in Norway and/or abroad.

Messages received in the online bank inbox

You’ll find the inbox in the desktop version of the online bank. Log in and click on the green information icon at the top right of the page.

Get a text message or email when you have received a message in your online bank inbox about:

  • Incoming and outgoing payments
  • A statement being received
  • Interest rate change on loans
  • Contract notes for share sales
  • Payments that have not been made

FAQ text message services

How do you set-up/cancel text message services?

To cancel text message services, you need to log in to the online bank. Go to “Settings” -> “Text message Services” -> “Cancel all text message services”.

How much does the text message service cost?

You pay NOK 2 per text message that you receive from the bank. The prices are compiled and charged to your account at the end of each month. Therefore you do not pay for using our text message services and notifications via your mobile phone subscription or mobile phone bill.

Payments and transfers via text message are free Hvite (White) card users. For children under 18, all text message services are free of charge.

I have forgotten the text message names. What should I do?

Send KONTO (ACCOUNT) to 04800. You will then receive a text message with a balance on all your accounts with the text message name, and will see which names you have entered.

Do I have to pay to receive notifications?

The service is free for Intro customers. For other customers, it costs NOK 2 per received message.

How can the notification service be set up?

You activate the notifications in the online bank under “Settings” and “Text message services and notifications”. In some cases, you can choose whether to receive the notification by text message or email.

How do I cancel the notification service?

You can easily stop all notifications by sending STOP to 04800, or in the online bank under “Settings” and “Text message services and notifications”.
