Security deposit account

Tenants must be over 18 years old and registered as customers in DNB

The tenant owns the account

The account is blocked so neither the landlord nor the tenant can withdraw money alone

The amount cannot be greater than six months’ rent

The landlord pays the cost of opening the account

The landlord can demand that the amount due be deducted from the deposit if there is a written tenancy agreement that the tenant shall pay the rent into the landlord’s account at DNB

Electronic copy of signed tenancy agreement.

Address of rental property.

Tenant’s name, national identity number, email and telephone number.

Current account number at DNB for charging the set-up fee.

Landlord and tenant must be registered as customers at DNB

Only the landlord needs to order the security deposit account in the online/mobile bank
