What does mobile phone insurance cover?
In some cases, your mobile phone may be covered by home contents insurance or travel insurance you have. The advantage of mobile phone insurance is that you’re able to cover most of the damage, with a low excess, both at home, whilst travelling and while in use.

For home contents insurance, the fully comprehensive insurance policy does cover accidents, but only to a limited extent compared to mobile phone insurance.
The excess for travel and home contents is limited to two events per calendar year.

Requirements for mobile phone insurance
When insuring a valuable item like a mobile phone, you’ll need to refer to the correct documentation. You must therefore, among other things, document the value of your mobile phone with a valuation letter or receipt when you need to insure it. If you have also bought your mobile phone abroad, you must have paid the national customs duties and fees.
